When I moved to Oregon after living in Vermont many people would ask me one question.
Is Oregon similar to Vermont?
I would laugh, give some snark remark and move on. But after actually thinking about it, I realized I could not simply move on from that question. Most people find these two states extraordinarily similar. How could you not?
They are eco-friendly.
They like cheese.
And they have frequent Chacos spottings.
Clearly, Oregon and Vermont are the same state.. but after a few months of west coast living under my belt I've noticed very obvious differences.
Oregon has an ocean. Vermont has ponds.
It rains a lot in Oregon. It snows a lot in Vermont.
Oregon has hipsters. Vermont has hippies.
Yes, I was confused, too. How can two states be so similar and yet so different? Only intense field and internet research can help solve this never ending question: Which coast would you prefer: East or West?
